Blessed Status - Humans vs Non Human
First, let's establish terminology.
The Domitor - That's the person who is doing the bonding. The vampire, or underkin, or fae, etc.
The Bonded -- That's the person who is getting bonded. The new ghoul, enchanted, etc.
For a large part, these bonds are predatory or enslaving. They are not meant to be both-way romantic bonds for two people who are in love. These bonds are a way for races to obtain pawns, resources, even food. They are ways for one race to use another race. Now, IC, these bonds may be painted as bonds of love or romance. And they may cause feelings of awe in the bonded for the domitor. Bonds like this might even be shared willingly by two people who DO fall in love, for various reasons. But ultimately, at the core, historically, that's not how any of these things have been used.
The Domitor bonds the Bonded because they get something out of it.
This CAN increase the abilities of the Bonded under certain situations (usually if they are human). Why only if they are human? Because humans are the most 'squishy', right? So if you are an immortal creature, or a very long-lived one, you want your new resource to live a long time and survive obstacles that come their way. You would want to be able to find them.
The Consortium has a very poor view of these sorts of things, because they are essentially a way of subjugating other races. But...humans are not a Consortium race, even though the Consortium is essentially formed to protect them. Bonding someone is seen by many of the supernatural/augmented races as an attack, basically a way to USE another race's member as a pawn. At the same time, none of them are willing to give up their own methods of getting a one-up on other races, because it's part of their essential power base.
Domitor Benefits (for both human or nonhuman blessed):
- Can feel the emotions of the bonded.
- Can feel the level of physical well-being of the bonded.
- Can find the bonded when they concentrate on it.
- Can give commands the bonded find it hard, but not impossible, to disobey.
- Can hear the bonded's prayers from afar.
- Can summon their bonded by singing (bonded has to phsycially travel to them)
Bonded Human Benefits:
- Can feel the emotions of their domitor.
- Ability to cast 1 level 1 magic.
- Increase in stamina/durability
Bonded Non-Human Benefits:
- Though the domitor can still hear your prayers. So that's useful if you like your domitor. And angels probably will aid you if you are in trouble. Other than that they personally gain no more perks.
Requirements to Bond:
The human or none human MUST be of the faith for the bond to work, as it involves shared prayer that is heard by all the song and Ael. It will not work unless the blessed is a true follower of Ael.
How the Bond senses emotions : The feelings shared between each other only lets one another know when there is intense feelings. But it does not explain what it is. For example, it would be hard to tell if pleasure was from a good foot rub, an orgasm or the best cake ever had. Pain is the same concept. Additionally you do not experience their emotion personally, your simply aware of how they are feeling.
How feeling physical well-being of the bonded works : This means that they are aware what the person feels. Such as they feel sick, or in pain etc. It can not uncover conditions unknown such as early pregnancy or internal illness not manifested yet etc. Additionally you do not experience their pain or discomforts personally, your simply aware of how they are feeling.
How often must prayer be renewed to keep a Blessed bond?
A Blessed must pray with their angel once a month to keep the bond in tact. This works on an honor system that players will abide these rules. However, a new blessed does need to submit a ST ticket to be legally legitimized by CV Staff.
Can Blessed's be turned to vampires?
Blessed's can be turned to vampires. Once they are turned they loose their blessed status as only humans can become blessed. They loose all blessed abilities and will no longer be able to enter holy ground.
