The Eleven Commandments of the Elohim
These commandments are endorsed by the highest ranks of the Elohim and are to be adopted in all Choirs, and by all Songs.
As an aside, it is noted that Sin is encouragement towards self-destruction, and a dependence on things which hamper growth in a person. Gluttony is not bad because it's over-indulgence and God wants you to be austere, gluttony is bad because it can hurt you. Vanity is not bad because God doesn't want you to love yourself and your beauty, but because an excess of vanity blinds a person to the beauty of others. It is great to be proud of a job well done, but too much pride can hamper humility and forgiveness. Nephilim encourage over-indulgence and self-destruction.
1. Ours is not to judge, but to deter, /mortals/ from sin -- the sin of destruction of the selves and world given unto them by Ael.
2. Other gods are merely splintered aspects of Ael, gone astray. And those who follow those gods are merely lost children. We do not destroy children merely for being children, but seek to bring them back into alignment with Ael's wishes. Unfortunately, there are times when some beings put at peril a larger number of beings. In those cases, they may have to be destroyed.
3. Magic is finite and best used in service of Ael. Our Blessed and those who pledge to a Choir, should they be non-Elohim, may be magic-users, for they are then using their magic in service of Ael. All magic originates from Ael if traced back far enough, and so all magic ultimately belongs to Him.
4. The only sins an Elohim can perform are to turn away from Ael's grace, breaking the Commandments, or to betray their Choir.
5. Sources of pneuma are to be protected. As such, we shall show ourselves among non-Blessed humans as little as possible and only if there is dire need. Revelation during the Full and New moon nights, under certain guidelines, is permitted.
6. D13 is the result of a great sin of Wrath and Greed. The damage it has done to the world is an anathema to Ael and the Elohim must work against it.
7. Humanity carries the hope and light of the world. Humanity, especially those who place faith in Ael, must be encouraged to thrive and reproduce. As such, the sin of Lust will only be actively worked against if it is seen to bring undue misery to the lustful or those around the lustful.
8. The Nephilim are our fallen brethren, and are damaged and depraved....infected with madness, disease, and deformity. They must be destroyed UNLESS they seek to turn away from Lucifer and become filled with Ael's holy light. If the latter, they must be delivered to the Canticle and sent to Archangel Zaphkiel for reformation.
9. Ael did not abandon us. We are separated from him by a malicious work of evil, the source of which is yet unknown. All those who maintain faith will be reunited with Ael again.
10. Ael exists independent of the religions of humanity. Such religion is best left to humanity's care, and is not a requirement for the Elohim, though we will endorse and protect all the religions of Ael.
11. The revelation of Light Magic is a sign from Ael, for He is the source of all light. We must work to eradicate the Dark from all universes and realities.
((IC-wise, you can believe differently than these commandments dictate, though publicly espousing those beliefs among other Elohim is basically 'going against the party line'. However, actually breaking any of the commandment dictates will most likely incur punishment if discovered.))
